BREAKING NEWS:Zimbabwe chief prosecutor charged with obstructing the course of justice released on $1000 bail

HARARE: Zimbabwe’s chief prosecutor who has been charged with obstructing the course of justice after allegedly dropping charges against people accused of plotting to bomb the president’s dairy, has been released on $1000 bail.

Prosecutor General Johannes Tomana was brought to court in a police van on Tuesday morning and had his bail hearing was heard at 6 30 pm.He has been ordered to report 3 times a week at CID Law and Order.

He denies the charges.

Four army officers accused of the plot also appeared at Harare Magistrates Court in the capital. The milk production plant is run by President Robert Mugabe’s wife, Grace.

Mrs Mugabe was accused of attempting to evict farmers from land near her dairy in January 2015, something the government denied.
