It was the occasion of the handover of goodies to the hospital by the Red Cross Society to which Macheso is the ambassador.
A large number of the patients recognised the music ace while others even remembered him from his last visit to the institution last year.
Tens of thousands of Zimbabweans from across the Globe hailed Macheso on The Mirror Masvingo Facebook for the humility, empathy and consideration he showed by taking time to be with the disadvantage while others said Macheso had become the second Oliver Mtukudzi.
In the video posted on the Facebook page; The Masvingo Mirror Macheso is seen dancing together with the inmates and taking them through paces and some of his dancing styles like Borrowdale dance. The patients take after him and some even pause for a moment to ask Macheso if they were doing the right thing.
Some more seriously ill patients however, had to be restrained from joining Macheso on the dance floor.
Ngomahuru is facing a serious food crisis that has left scores of patients suffering from malnutrion. The hospital which is 40km South West of Masvingo is home to 170 inmates.
Red Cross through its provincial manager, Fungai Maregedze donated cooking oil, sugar, salt, mazoe orange crush and second hand clothes. The goods which were provided in bulk have a capacity of taking patients for a month.
Ngomahuru Matron Thomas Hwami Mahwehwe expressed his gratitude and thanked the organisation for assisting.
Red Cross emphasised the principle of humanity and said Ubuntu should be practised and people should not stigmatise the patients but rather extend their hands and empathise with them.
