ZIMBABWE star forward Khama Billiat was the talk of the ‘Battle of Zambezi’, after scoring a brace against Zambia on Tuesday at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
Billiat opened his goal account in the 10th minute when he connected a corner from captain Knowledge Musona.
Musona provided all the assists in either half as the Warriors were looking for their first win to revive their hopes in the Afcon 2020 qualifiers.
The skipper proved naysayers wrong with a scintillating overall performance despite his lack of game time abroad.
Zimbabwe is now behind log leaders Algeria who are on six points, while Zimbabwe is two points shy from Algeria followed by Botswana who picked a point against Zimbabwe.
Zambia will look forward to redeem themselves when they play Botswana on their next assignment.
The Warriors fought hard to defeat the ’wounded’ Zambian side on home soil.
