A Chitungwiza teacher is in hospital after his wife pulled at his privates as they fought over food.
Tawanda Tinazvo (36) a Seke 4 High School teacher flew into a rage after he returned home and found his wife Abigail Antonio (31) in bed. She did not cook any food for him.
Antonio, has since appeared in court charged with domestic violence. Antonio is also a teacher at Seke 5 High School . She was not asked to plead to the charges when she appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Lazarus Murendo yesterday.
Antonio was remanded to October 14 on $100 bail. Prosecuting, Mr Tendai Mukariri told the court that on the day in question, Tinazvo came back home from conducting extra lessons at around 10pm. The court heard that he discovered that his wife had not left any food for him and was already in bed.
He asked Antonio why she had developed a habit of not cooking for him. Antonio allegedly confronted Tinazvo accusing his mother of being evil and that she had been influencing him to do “bad things”. However, Tinazvo professed ignorance on the matter and joined Antonio in bed.
The court heard that she got up and told Tinazvo that she was going to teach him a lesson. It is alleged in a fit of rage, Antonio allegedly punched him on the head and got hold of his private parts and pulled them hard.
He managed to free himself and ran for dear life, with Antonio in hot pursuit. She caught up with him at the gate. It is further alleged that Antonio reached for Tinazvo’s privates and pulled them severely until he started bleeding.
Tinazvo was later rescued by a commuter omnibus driver who was passing by. The matter was reported to the police leading to Antonio’s arrest.
