A local man who assaulted his wife for attending Jah Prayzah show was slapped with a two months’ jail term.
Kudakwashe Mupeti,30, of Greenside Extension, Mutare pleaded guilty when he appeared before magistrate Langton Mukwengi facing charges of physical abuse.
Mupeti reportedly slapped his wife aged 17 at Pick n Save where Jan Prayzah was performing.He was sentenced to two months in prison but can avoid a spell in jail after magistrate Mukwengi gave him the alternative to pay $100 fine.
Court heard that that Mupeti went home at around 1800hrs and discovered that his wife was not around.
He went to look for her in Sakubva and did not find her. He then received a tip off that she was seen at Pick N Save in the company of some friends.
Mupeti went to the venue at around 20 00hrs and saw her wife at the gig.Not impressed, Mupeti started assaulted his wife on the face but police moved in and arrested him.
