Ugandan comedian Anne Kansiime, who is billed to perform at the 7 Arts Theatre in Harare on Saturday, has promised to stage a rib-cracking show and make audiences “laugh, laugh and laugh”.
In a promotional video for the tour, the ever comic Kansiime says:
“If you are so happy waiting for me to come to Zimbabwe, how do you think I’m feeling? I can’t wait for the 14th of November to come to Zimbabwe, Harare, and make all of you wonder and laugh and laugh and laugh.”
The comedian, known for her hilarious skits of YouTube, is expected in the country on Thursday and she will share the stage with Carl Joshua Ncube and Doc Vikela.
Organisers of the show, Extratime Entertainment, said they have done the groundwork and the comedian is happy to tour Zimbabwe.
“The show is on and Kansiime is coming to Zimbabwe she will share the stage with Carl Joshua Ncube and Doc Vikela. This is going to be the best show for all the comedy-loving Zimbabweans considering that we have brought together superlative comedians.
“We have been cleared by the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and have paid all the relevant expenses,” said Tonderai Mwaita of Extratime Entertainment.
Comedy lovers will have to part with $30 and $20 for the VIP and ordinary tickets respectively and the show is expected to be a full house.
“Tickets are now on sale and those who want to buy their tickets in advance can get them from Tech Tools, Verra Mall and at Avondale shops,” said Mwaita
Renowned for her short video satires on social media, Kansiime is on a successful 2015 and 2016 worldwide tour which has seen her amaze fans in Malawi, Namibia, Zambia, Kenya, Rwanda, Canada, Australia, the UK and South Africa
At 28, the Ugandan stand-up comedian has won several awards including AIRTEL Women of Substance Awards 2014, BEFFTA 2013 (Best Comedian) winner, Lagos International Festival 2013 (Best Actress), Social Media Awards (Favourite Celebrity) winner and African Social Awards Malaysia (ASAM) — 2013.
