HARARE – Ugandan comedian Anne Kansiime is currently in Zimbabwe for her maiden show at the 7 Arts Theatre in the capital tonight. She took time out to meet Zimbabwe’s own legend, musician Oliver Mtukudzi.
“When you get a chance to hear from a great mind, not even a mosquito bite in the eye will make you blink. It was totally refreshing meeting and chatting with Dr. Oliver Mutukudzi.
Zimbabwe is on point so far,” Kansiime wrote on her Facebook fan page.
The comedian has 1,154,780 followers on Facebook.
The popular comedian has now been forced to hold another show on Sunday at the same joint because of demand as tickets for today’s showcase quickly sold out. Kansiime revealed this at a press conference yesterday hosted by Sopranos Restaurant in Avondale.
“It will be a family event. I just learnt that the Saturday show sold out two days ago, hence everyone should have a chance to watch me perform. I know Monday is a stressful day so people should relax and laugh on Sunday. Everything will be the same in terms of content.”
The former Makerere University student said she is glad to perform in the country.
“If I am invited to perform in the country again, I am ready to come back even next week. My ninjas (fans) love me too much and the challenge is to meet their expectations which are too high for a short black girl like me,” she said.
The Kansiime show is being promoted by Xtratime ENT and spokesperson Tonderai Mwaita said they have sold 900 advance tickets making the show sold out.
