Things aren’t going so well for entertainment hotshot, Taona Oswald Chipunza, popularly known as Teemak, who found himself facing the wrath of the law on allegations of fraud.
In a picture which has gone viral online, the usually composed and clean cut Teemak is pictured barefoot and humbly seated on the floor at the police station charge office.
This follows after Teemak was arrested, amid allegations of fraud.
According to sources close to the development, he was arrested after he pawned off a vehicle which he had bought on credit to a loan shark.
He is said to have owed a loan shark money and in order to cover his debt, he pawned off his vehicle however said vehicle was purchased under credit and he hadn’t finished paying for it.
According to information gathered by iHarare yesterday, Teemak allegedly pawned off a USD60k vehicle which he purchased on credit from Harare car dealer, PanJap Motors.
He is alleged to have pawned the vehicle to a loan shark, to whom he owed an undisclosed amount of money, for USD40K.
This was despite having only paid USD10k upfront for the vehicle to PanJap Motors.
All hell broke loose after Panjap received word on Teemaks fraudulent dealings, who then reported the matter to the police and Teemak was subsequently arrested
IHarare learnt that there seems to be more to the story than a cut and dry case of fraud after his sister, Namatai took to social media to rally behind him.
She suggested most of it was speculation and fake news by gossip mongers.
Teemak himself is yet to comment on the issue and give his side of the story.-Iharare
