Zanu PF succession wars :G40 Strategy Exposed

Harare – The Kasukuwere faction commonly known as G40 has been at the receiving end in the past week as factional fights linked to the ZANU-PF succession problems reached the climax as warring factions traded accusations and counter accussations.

In a bid to outfox the rival Lacoste Faction, now the Kasukuwere faction has turned to the Women’s league for salvation as sources close to the developments indicate that Saviour Kasukuwere the party commissar yesterday summoned to Holiday Inn hotel Sarah Mahoka, the Hurungwe MP and National Secretary for Finance in the Grace Mugabe led Women’s League to organise marches dubbed “GUSHUNGO KUFA VACHITONGA” but which shall be used as a launch pad for counter attacks on VP Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The marches are set to draw women from all the corners of the country and are to be financed by Esau Mupfumi, Agrippa Masiyakurima (Bopela), Philip Chiyangwa, Harare South MP Shaddy Mashayamombe through housing co-operatives, Smelly Dube and Kasukuwere himself.

The source also revealed that at the meeting it was agreed that another potential source of money to finance this counter project if the traditional sources of financing fail to bring enough to the fore will be Tongai Kasukuwere who is expected to divert some monies to be donated for the 21st February Movement celebrations to be held in Masvingo later this month.

The Kasukuwere faction intends to divert attention from their under-fire ally Higher Education Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo who has been under attack for playing divisive politics through social media especially on Twitter.

According to the source, the banners and pla-cards to be printed shall carry anti Mnangagwa messages while praising President Mugabe as the Kasukuwere faction plans to turn the heat on the beleagured VP.

Addressing journalists at the ZANU.PF Headquarters on Friday Kasukuwere did not give detail but indicated there will be action in the near future to safeguard the President but insiders say the plan is to launch an attack on VP Mnangagwa under the guise of solidarity marches with Mugabe.

Although the yesterday meeting paved way for the start of the preparations for the program with Hatfield shadow MP Acie Lumumba nominated Coordinator to work with Sarah Mahoka, the project has not been endorsed by Dr Mugabe as the leader of the Women’s League.

Kasukuwere has also taken it upon himself to whip all provincial chairpersons into line to assist the Women’s League in mobilising for their defence ahead of the Wednesday Politburo meeting.

More drama is expected in the coming week as the ZANU.PF Politburo sits to deliberate on a number of key issues including the abuse of social media by party leaders in fanning factionalism.
