Kuda Musasiwa Rescues Murehwa Whizkid Who Aced 15 Points at A-Level

Harare businessman Kuda Musasiwa has come to the rescue of Ranganai Zhakata, a boy from Murehwa who aced 15 points at A-Level but could not fund his university education and had resorted to newspaper vending.

Ranganai, who is from Kambarami in Murewa, got 15 points at A Level from a single sitting in the November 2018 examinations (ZIMSEC).

He got a place at the University of Zimbabwe (UZ), but he could not fund himself

Ranganai’s predicament was publicised by one Mobie Musakatiza who went on social media appealing to well-wishers on behalf or Ranganai, as the boy was now selling newspapers at Murewa Bus Terminus.

It was at that point that Kuda Musasiwa, who runs online store Fresh in a Box among other ventures, used his influence to call for public support for Ranganai.

Withing 24 hours, there was so much outpouring of support that Musasiwa managed to raise thousands of dollars in cash and materials that Ranganai will use for his university education.

In an update on social media on Friday evening, Musasiwa announced that he and his colleagues had managed to raise: “$4000 in RTGS for tuition accommodation/food RTGS$1000 clothing needs; pledges for food /dry goods; a laptop as well as funds to cover data and printing costs for the first year, including US$200 cash.”

“I think we have reached out target,” an elated Musasiwa revealed last night. “Thank you everyone. We have a group with all donors and we will coordinate to make sure everything is done for this kids. Blessings to everyone.”

Ranganai will also get a smartphone, a fridge to store his foods while at university, and many other accessories.

Musasiwa revealed his joy as Ranganai and mom travelled to Harare to meet him for the hand over of the donations.

It also turned out that Mukure Tours, a public transport operator who have an office at Murehwa Business Centre, have also come on board and offered Ranganai Zhakata free Murehwa-Harare transport four times a year at every semester opening and closing.

This is not the first time that Musasiwa has helped a university-bound student.

A few weeks back, he helped another boy who was stuck as a garden boy after failing to raise university fees.

Providence Pangira from Mutasa attained 13 points after he did Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry at Advanced Level.

Fortunately for Providence, his story was seen by Musasiwa who offered to Providence formal employment so he earns an income while awaiting university.
