Macheso Pays Fees For 109 Pupils As He Celebrates His Birthday

SUNGURA ace Alick Macheso has brought joy to his former school in Shamva with the announcement that he will take school fees worries off 109 pupils as well as revamp the ECD block of his childhood school.

Macheso made the announcement ahead of his 51st birthday bash set to be held in the farming town of Shamva over the weekend. He was born on 10 June 1968.

Announcing the good news, the 1940 hitmaker said: “June is my birth month and because I value my roots and love all, I decided to celebrate my birthday by giving back to my former school, Enterprise Primary in Shamva.

“We will be paying full tuition for 109 underprivileged students that are not covered under BEAM and we are also building an ECD block for kids that were learning under trees.”

Over the years, Alick Macheso has held his birthday celebrations in Chitungwiza and Harare, attracting hordes of fans to his commemorative shows. But this year looks to be different.

In an interview recently, Macheso’s public relations manager Tichaona Makahamadze said the rural birthday bash was going according to plan.

“Macheso’s birthday celebrations will be held at his rural home in Shamva where he is also expected to perform. He is going to perform together with the late Tedious Matsito’s son Tedious Muchapedza Jnr.

“We are still sketching details of the programme, but he has revealed that he wants to donate to Enterprise Primary School in Shamva, a school he has assisted before,” he said
