Not everyone gets to go on stage for a superstar Happy Birthday.
But if you’re Madonna’s daughter, you just might.
On Saturday night, the pop superstar invited daughter Mercy James on stage to mark the occasion. Mercy turned 10 just days earlier.
Mother Madonna was not going to let the milestone go unnoticed. On the big day, she posted a photo on Instagram of herself with her daughter and the caption read, “Happy Birthday to my Beautiful Mercy James!”
On Saturday, Madonna led the crowd at the American Airlines Arena in Miami in a rendition of Happy Birthday.
And then Mom presented Mercy James with a cupcake topped with a candle. A post by Madonna accompanying a photo of the magic moment read, “Make a Wish Mercy James.”
Mercy is one of Madonna’s four children. Her siblings are Lourdes Leon, 19, Rocco Ritchie, 15, and David Banda, 10.
Madonna, who adopted Mercy in Malawi nearly 7 years ago, is involved in a custody battle with ex-husband Guy Ritchie over Rocco, who refused to return from Britain to be with his mother for the holidays in New York.
