Former Minister of tourism, Prisca Mupfumira, who is on trial for corruption, was reportedly ejected from a Politburo meeting at ZANU PF Headquarters in Harare today.
Former Cabinet Minister, Priscah Mupfumira, who is facing charges of Criminal Abuse of Office, has been ejected from a Zanu PF Politburo meeting after an attempt to attend it today.
The former Minister, who once headed the Public Service, Labour and Hospitality Industry as well as the Environment, Tourism and Hospitality Industry portfolios sought to put to good use her time out of the remand prison on bail by attending this Wednesday’s extraordinary session of the Zanu PF Politburo.
However, that was not to be as she was ejected before the start of the day’s deliberations.
Mupfumira, who was arrested some months ago, is out on bail pending trial in a Criminal Abuse of Office case in which she is alleged to have siphoned around US$95 million from the National Social Security Association (NSSA) during her time as Public Service Minister.
Following Mupfumira’s arrest by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC), President Emmerson Mnangagwa moved in quickly to sack her from government, and Zanu PF members from her home province of Mashonaland West have since called for her expulsion from the party.

Mupfumira is currently out on bail facing charges of corruption and abuse of office committed during her time as Minister Of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare.
She was one of the few high profile politicians that have been arrested on corruption charges since President Mnangagwa took over power in November 2017. None of them have been convicted.
