The protest, known #ZimShutDown2016, was coordinated by the #ThisFlag movement  launched by  pastor Evan Mawarire which has seen thousands of people take to social media to voice their criticisms of the widespread corruption, injustice and poverty in the country which has been ruled by Mugabe for 36 years.

According to a worshipper who attended Apostle Tannah’s sermon on Sunday, she said the prophecy was backed with Biblical verse of Isaish1:7 which states:“Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.”

The Bible also reveals the cause of the riots. Before warning  of the violence to come, Isaiah 1:5-6 state: “Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.”
