Bangladesh set Zimbabwe a 136-run wining target as the Tigers scored a defendable 135 losing nine of their wickets off stipulated 20 overs in the second Twenty20 international cricket match in Dhaka on Sunday.
Brief scores: Hosts Bangladesh 135/9 in 20 overs v Zimbabwe at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Earlier, Zimbabwe spinners tightened the screws on Bangladesh batsmen as they continued to chip away at the wickets in the second of two-match T20I series. Graeme Cremer struck with his first ball when Mushfiqur Rahim (9) swept it high to Sean Williams at deep square leg. The hosts are 69 for 3 in 10 overs with Anamul Haque (22) and Sabbir Rahman (14) in the middle at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Bangladesh had lost the openers in successive overs after a solid start. Tamim Iqbal (21) perished first trying to pull Neville Madziva. He mistimed it and sent a simple catch to Elton Chigumbura at long-on after cracking a boundary and two sixes.
Imrul Kayes (10) drove Tendai Chisoro square which was spectacularly caught at point by Williams. The third umpire gave the decision on being certain the catch was taken cleanly. The hosts won by four wickets in the first match on Friday. The Tigers have made two changes. Imrul Kayes and Arafat Sunny will play in place of Litton Kumer Das and Jubair Hossain. Zimbabwe are unchanged, according to a news agency.
