Popular Zimbabwean pastor Evan Mawarire who is known for starting a campaign fondly known as #ThisFlag has refused to meet up with US president Barack Obama and expressed his desire to meet with Donald Trump instead.
The pastor, who is currently in the United States received a call from Barack Obama himself and was invited to lunch at the white house. He flatly denied to meet the outgoing president. Obama is said to have been disappointed according to an online paper SouthernDaily
To add salt to injury, it is also alleged the pastor has been trying to get his contacts to organise a meeting with presidential hopeful, Donald Trump. This despite that Donald Trump is not a favorite with many non-Americans after he openly attacked Mexicans and plans to chase them out of the country if he gets voted into power.
A source close to Evan said he wants to hear Donald’s ideology and the fact that Donald openly rebuked Mugabe makes them have that in common. It was not clear what happened to Barack after the let down but sources suggest he went for a game of golf with his close friends.
