Tongogara said in an interview that she decided to engage the services of Mac Dee so that she keeps on with the local trends as all her two albums were recorded in the UK.

“All my albums were recorded at Healing Hands Studios by talented producer Enock Kamhiripiri and I want to make sure my music is readily available on the local market that’s why I am back home to promote the albums,” she said.

“I recorded my albums with session musicians, but this year I am working towards assembling my own band.”

Tongogara is proving to be a woman of collaborations having featured gospel musician Mathias Mhere on her debut six-track album Murandawashe and on her latest offering she has also done duets Ndisimbiseiwo and Apo Jesu with another gospel artiste, Obert Mazivisa.

Songs on Tongogara’s latest album are Nguva Yekubvuma, When I Cry, Inzwaiwo Kuchema, Zita RaJesu, Apo Jesu, title track Ndisimbiseiwo and Ndinomutenda.
As a way of taking her music to the people, Tongogara recently performed in Dande, Mashonaland Central, Gokwe and Domboshava as she promises more shows.

“I believe God called me to minister through music and I have committed myself to doing so. I wish to see people attaining salvation through music,” she said.
Tongogara’s involvement in gospel music dates back to her Sunday school days before taking her music career seriously last year.

The 33-year-old musician draws her inspiration from the first family of gospel Oliver and Charles Charamba.

Born on September 14 1981, the musician, who is a member of St Peter’s Holy Apostolic Church, grew up in Goromonzi before relocating to Manchester, in the UK in 2003.
