Prophet Walter Magaya of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance ministries (PHDM) paid $50,000 for a book at an auction during a Golden Jubilee and Charity Dinner for the First Lady Dr Grace Mugabe on Saturday at the First Family’s residence in Borrowdale.
The auction was beamed live on state television , ZBC TV at around 12 midnight and executed by an auctioneer from ABC Auctioneers.Details of the book are not yet known.
The first bidder offered $5k, and it went on and on until Magaya through one of his senior pastors Admire Mango raised the figure from $30k to $35k and then to $50k.
Magaya and his wife then went to collect the book from President Mugabe and his wife Grace. They then posed for pictures after which the other book was given to the second highest bidder Brainworks Capital headed by George Manyere.
Parliament on Wednesday heard that local government minister Savior Kasukuwere arm-twisted mining companies into paying a financial advisory firm he is allegedly connected to, Brainworks Capital, huge sums of money “for no services at all”.
Observers said the Brainworks move to buy that book is a move to buy allegiance.
