The Centre for Investigative Journalism in Zimbabwe (CIJZ) is pleased to welcome veteran human rights lawyer and defender Beatrice Mtetwa as its inaugural BOARD CHAIRPERSON.
Mtetwa is a prominent media lawyer and human rights defender. She has appeared in numerous high-profile cases in Zimbabwe. In a country where the law is often used as a weapon of persecution, she has defended those targeted, at great personal risk. She is a past president of the Law Society of Zimbabwe and is the recipient of numerous human rights awards.
The Centre for Investigative Journalism Zimbabwe(CIJZ) is a think-tank, independent centre of investigative journalists as well as a laboratory set up to train a new generation of reporters in the tools of investigative, in-depth, and long-form journalism across all media. CIJZ seeks to promote investigative reporting, equipping investigative journalists with new media techniques that keep on evolving as well as promoting effective ethical and original reporting.
CIJZ is a non-profit-making organization and we robustly defend, train and promote investigative journalists.
