Didymus Mutasa expelled from Zanu PF

FORMER Zanu PF administration secretary Didymus Mutasa and his nephew Themba Mliswa – who was chairman for Mashonaland West province – have been expelled from the ruling party.

According to local radio reports, the decision was confirmed at the party’s politburo meeting held in Harare Wednesday.

Mutasa was sacked from his high profile party job and also fired from cabinet where he was presidential affairs minister for allegedly working with former vice president Joice Mujuru to topple President Robert Mugabe.

Mliswa, a key Mujuru ally had also been suspended from being Mashonaland province chair over the same allegations.

Mutasa drew angry attack from Mugabe after he described the December congress which sacked him as illegal and vowed file a challenge in the country’s courts.

He also reportedly wrote to South Africa president Jacob Zuma and other SADC leaders telling them that the Zanu PF leadership which emerged from the congress was illegitimate.
