WILL it be Kelvin Kaindu or David Mandigora? It appears a straight race between the two when Dynamos name their new head coach in Harare tomorrow, Club secretary-general Webster Chikengezha confirmed that they will name their new coach tomorrow. “We are trying to be professional as it is a confidential issue, so we are not at liberty to mention names of those who showed interest in the post.
“We will announce our technical team on Thursday and I hope by then we will have finished with all the logistics involved.
“There is a lot at stake if we mention names of the guys who showed interest in the post as some still have running contracts with their clubs and that will be not ethical,” said Chikengezha.
The Glamour Boys closed applications for the job on Monday evening, two weeks after they flighted adverts in newspapers for the hottest job in domestic football.
Chikengezha said he was in the process of giving a contract to one of those appointed yesterday.
The Dynamos coaching job attracted huge interest from within and outside the country with a number of local and foreign coaches submitting their applications.
Mandigora is heavily tipped to land the post.
He took the Glamour Boys to the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2008.
ZPC Kariba coach Saul Chaminuka, whose team finished second to Dynamos, could also emerge as a dark horse for the job.
There is also good money on Kaindu taking over as the DeMbare head coach.
