Dynamos rise from the ashes

Dynamos are now a big threat to dislodge Chicken Inn, as PSL champions after powering to a fifth straight win by swatting aside Border Strikers 2-0 at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.

After a horrible start to the season that saw them flirting with relegation two months ago, the Harare giants are now just four points behind leaders FC Platinum with 23 points.

While coach Lloyd Mutasa’s future was on the wire six games ago, the club’s former midfielder responded by dooming his critics with an away 2-1 win at Chapungu.

To prove that it was no fluke, Dynamos then dismissed Ngezi PLatinum 2-0 before beating Harare City by a similar scoreline.

An away 1-0 win at Bulawayo City was followed by Sunday’s victory over Border Strikers in which God knows Murwira and Kudzanayi Nyakasaka were on target.

This placed them on firm position to reclaim the league title from Chicken Inn who took it away from them last season.

But Mutasa has been diplomatic, choosing not to talk about their title aspirations.

“Like I have always said, the destiny of this league race is not in our hands. Other teams are doing well as well. We are just focusing on collecting three points every game and then see how it foes,” Mutasa said.

In this impressive of five consecutive wins; they have scored nine goals while conceding just two.

They have managed to keep clean sheets in their last two games.
