Everton star Galloway snubs Zimbabwe call-up

Brendan-Galloway

Everton defender Brendan Galloway has been included in England’s Under-21 side ahead of their 2017 Under-21 UEFA Championship qualifier with Switzerland next week.

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) had reportedly targeted Galloway for their 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers double header against Swaziland next week.

However, according to reports coming out of Zimbabwe Galloway turned down Warriors head coach Callisto Pasuwa’s offer earlier this week as he awaited an England Under-21 call-up.

The 20-year-old versatile defender, who was born in Zimbabwe’s capital city, Harare, has represented England at Under-17, Under-18 as well as Under-19 levels.

ZIFA are believed to be planning to lure the youngster again in the future. They will be hoping that Galloway decides to commit to the Warriors when the time comes.

The former Milton Keynes Dons player has featured in 15 English Premier League (EPL) matches for Everton thus far in this 2015/16 campaign.
