Months of research, discovery and communication with the wealthiest people in the world yielded the data for our 30th annual Forbes Billionaires list. In 2016, the world’s billionaire population currently stands at 1,810 in 67 countries.

540 billionaires call the United States home, more than any other country. Second-place China has 251 billionaires, which is more than double Germany’s 120 billionaires.
China’s total, combined with India’s 84 billionaires and the sums of 14 other countries, helps bring the Asia-Pacific region to a 590 total, making it the most populous region of billionaires.

Europe possesses the largest number of countries with billionaires, with 27 different nations counting at least one in their population. In that region, Germany’s 120 billionaires stands as the largest congregation in the region.
