UNITED KINGDOM – Hundreds of police officers gathered in Milton Keynes on Thursday lunchtime to attend the funeral of Detective Constable Joe Mabuto, who died last week.
Det Con Mabuto (originally from Zimbabwe), who was 42 and married with two children, collapsed and died at Central Milton Keynes Police Station last Tuesday (September 27).
The service was held at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone in Saxon Gate, with full police honours. In tribute, Det Con Greg Hughes said:
“Joe was so determined to learn and it was always a pleasure to answer any question he had and give him pointers. He quickly became a driven investigator, striving to get results. He loved what he did and was proud to be doing his job.
“Det Con Mabuto impressed everyone that came into contact with him. His beaming smile, positive attitude and caring nature are traits which will live on and be remembered across the Milton Keynes police family.”
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson added:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe’s wife, children, mother and siblings, as we share the loss of this iconic and gentle man.” OneMK.co.uk
