‘Generations’ star Priska Nomvete Zim-bound

Generations actress Priska Nomvete, who is better known as Zikhona in the popular soapie, is jetting into Harare this week to grace socialite Tinopona Katsande’s inaugural Sassy Thursday ladies’ night to be held at Club H2O.

Speaking to The Herald, Nomvete expressed excitement over her first visit to the country saying she was looking forward to experience our hospitality.

“Zimbabwe is our neighbouring country and I can’t believe I have never been there before. I have heard beautiful stuff and I can’t wait to experience it for myself. It’s December and we have all had a hectic year. I think it’s good to unwind and relax at H20 this Thursday,” she said.

Speaking on what the fans should expect, the actress said she is ready to party up a storm on the dance floor.

She said all was set for the trip where she is likely to make a bold fashion statement courtesy of her Zimbabwean designer who is working on her outfits.

The six-day trip will also see the actress exploring business opportunities in the country, although she could not be drawn to elaborate.

“A girl has got to play hard and work hard too. I’m looking forward to do a bit of work while I’m there. I am exploring business opportunities and will be happy to take them on if they are there. I will visit the set of the film ‘Legacy’. I have heard about it and I can’t wait to check it out,” she said.

According to Tin Tin, who is the brains behind the Just Sassy Thursdays, the ladies night is an ongoing exclusive cocktail night out for mature and spontaneous women.

“I have many acquaintances but only a small intimate group of friends both girls and guys and whenever we hang out, the conversation passes through the ‘we need a spot for us – our age group’ chat.

“In fact, as you get older your vivacious self begins to become more self-conscious and more aware of the ‘kids in this room’ when you are out painting the town red,” said Katsande of her ladies nights out.

The Thursday event will be a girls only affair between 9pm and 10pm and giveaways and holiday vouchers will be given out to party goers.

“Giveaways on offer include a fancy a trip for two to Zanzibar, romantic weekend away in the Vumba, an all-expenses-paid trip to Cape Town,” she said.
