The 33-year-old man, who is originally from Zimbabwe, was last seen at Branswood at around 9am on Tuesday, 14 April.

His car, a black Audi A4 with a 131 D number plate was located at Raheen Car Park in Bray in the early hours of 17 April by Gardaí, the Irish police.

His family and Gardaí had said they were “very concerned for his welfare”.

Gardaí have said that no further action is required and have thanked the public for their assistance.

The body was recovered from Dublin Bay after a vessel alerted the Coast Guard to an object floating in the water shortly after 4pm on Sunday.

The alarm was raised after the MS Seatruck Pace, a ferry operated by Seatruck Ferries, made the sighting approximately 1½ miles south of Howth near Burford Bank.

The Dublin Coast Guard rescue helicopter, the Dún Laoghaire Coast Guard and Dún Laoghaire life boat were involved in the operation.

The body was brought to Loughlinstown hospital where a post mortem was carried out.
