Jamaican dancehall artist, Dwayne Forrester, popularly known as Dwayno , arrived in the country late evening on Thursday for the Zimbabwe-Jamaica Youth Festival set for Saturday at the City Sports Centre in Harare.
Scores of people were at the Harare International Airport to welcome the Jamaican reggae artist who will this weekend stage his maiden performance in the country.
Dwayno launched his musical career at the age of 17, working with the likes of Famous Face and then writing songs for legendary acts like Voicemail and Buju Banton before rising to stardom after featuring in songs such asÂÂÂ Unsolved Mystery Riddim and 360 Riddim before releasingÂÂÂ his hit song Don A Road.
Speaking soon after his arrival, the young Jamaican artist who sang a few lyrics in Shona promised fireworks ahead of the Zimbabwe-Jamaica Youth Festival aimed at celebrating the cordial relationship between Zimbabwe and Jamaica.
One of the show organisers Christine Takawira and other fans spoke highly of the Don A Road hit-maker who is rated as one of the leading dancehall artistes of his generation.
At the concert, Dwayno will share the stage with local dancehall artists Killer T, Soul Jah Love, Kinnah, Guspy Warrior, Ras Caleb and Hwindi President among other artists.
