Former NUST Vice Chancellor Professor Lindela Ndlovu  who collapsed and died Wednesday morning , just over a week after being being  pushed  out of his job  by Higher Education Minister Prof Jonathan Moyo is feared to have suffered a heart attack, friends have said.

He collapsed at Gallen House, close family members said.

Condolence messages poured from all corners of the world to mourn Ndlovu’s sudden passing away with colleagues, students and friends describing him as an inspirational, top academic. His death Wednesday morning came hardly a month after the death of another esteemed Nust academic Lawton Hikwa and about a week after he was pushed out of NUST as VC, mourners noted.

Ironically Ndlovu’s contract was not renewed by the government after allegations he attended Hikwa’s funeral under the influence of alcohol, charges vehemently denied by Nust spokesperson Felix Silandulo Moyo.

Givemore Chipere said: “Maybe NUST and government should have found an alternative way of dealing with him. Perhaps the harsh treatment meted on him contributed to his demise.”

This is not the first time Professor Moyo has been linked to death of individuals while in position of power.Moyo, who has not denied fathering a child with the late gospel singer Jackie Madondo is believed to have played a role in the car crash after the singer pressured him to pay maintenance for the upkeep of the minor.

It is then alleged Moyo, plotted with his military friends in a typical  style that claimed the life of late liberation icon Josiah Tongogara .Jackie’s daughter Chantelle died on the spot.

Moyo recently lost a daughter in South Africa , Zanele. He said he had turned to God.
