Kansiime, who has proven why she is referred to as Africa’s queen of comedy, is on an African tour and has so far performed at sold-out shows in Malawi and Zambia.

“She started her African tour last weekend. She had sold out shows in Zambia and Malawi and her next stop is Rwanda on July 24 before she comes to Zimbabwe,” said Tonderai Mwaita of Xtratime Entertainment, who are organising the Harare show.

Mwaita said the fact that Kansiime was performing before full houses wherever she goes was proof that she is indeed the queen of comedy on the continent.

“The girl is on fire. People should not think she is only in demand in Zimbabwe but throughout the continent,” he said.

Kansiime will share the stage in Harare with South Africa-based Zimbabwean comedian Baba Tencen of the Kuripwa Kugara fame, who makes his first appearance on local stage.

Meanwhile, tickets for the show are now on sale. Comedy lovers can buy tickets at Reflections Gift Shops in the city centre, Avondale and Borrowdale branches.

Mwaita encouraged comedy lovers to buy tickets as the show will be a full package which would ease stress for many.

“There is a lot of stress and pressure these days, so on August 6, bring your family and friends to Rainbow Towers Hotel. Kansiime will sing, dance and most importantly, make Harare laugh and forget their sorrows for a moment,” said Mwaita.

The show dubbed Let’s Laugh Again will also feature local comedians Q The Boss and Pro Beatz.

Having pulled off two successive full shows in Zimbabwe, August 6 will tell if Kansiime can repeat the bountiful feat along with her partner in comedy Cotilda Inapo.
