Former cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere has been dumped by his lawyer Jonathan Samukange. Samukange who is a member of the ruling Zanu-PF party said that representing Kasukwuere had resulted in a conflict of interest and made the decision after “overwhelming pressure” from youths in his province.
Kasukuwere is out on $3,000 bail and is facing four counts of criminal abuse of office for the alleged illegal awarding of tenders and parcelling out of land during his tenure as minister of Indigenisation and Local Government. He is alleged to have parcelled out some of the land in question to former first lady Grace Mugabe’s sister Junior Shuvai Gumbochuma.
