Mary Mubaiwa trial update

The trial of Vice President General (Rtd) Constantino Chiwenga’s estranged wife, Marry Mubaiwa who is facing charges of attempted murder has been postponed due to the non-availability of the prosecutor handling the matter.

Marry Mubaiwa was back in court this Monday facing allegations of attempting to kill her former husband, Vice President Chiwenga.

The trial was, however, postponed to the 30th of November as the prosecutor handling the case is not available.

The court also heard that Mubaiwa has not yet fully recovered and is due to go for treatment.

In another court case, Land Baron Felix Munyaradzi has been remanded in custody to the 21st of this month after the state opposed his bail application.

Munyaradzi is facing allegations of offering a bribe to a member of the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Thomas Mabwe in the form of two residential stands worth 78 000 United States Dollars.

According to the State, sometime in 2015, Munyaradzi invited Mabwe to his company Delatfin Civil Engineering in Harare, where he allegedly offered him the two residential stands for protection against pending and future criminal cases.

In opposing bail, the Magistrate said there are reasonable grounds for him to abscond due to the nature of the allegations and the fact that he has another pending matter before the courts.
