Themba Mliswa ‘s victory in Norton seat dealt a heavy blow to the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front which dished out 9 000 stands in the run-up to the by-election.
Themba Mliswa has won the Norton parly seat by 8927 votes , beating his rival Chindedza who had polled 6192 and observers see the outcome as a protest vote given the deteriorating economic environment. It also raises fresh questions in the Zanu Pf infighting.
The seat was previously held by war veterans leader Christopher Mutsvangwa who was expelled from the party for disrespecting its leadership.
