Mugabe can’t spell GOD in rant at Mawarire after mix-up

President Robert Mugabe has once again made another public blunder, mixing up the spelling of God as age catches up with him.

The president, 92, was oblivious of the glitch and went on with his speech as he, for the first time spoke on Evan Mawarire, the pastor who has used his #ThisFlag to decampaign the Mugabe regime over corruption and failed leadership.

Mugabe told a subdued crowd at the national Heroes Acre at the burial of Charles Utete, the former chief secretary to cabinet and the presidency, that the likes of Mawarire spelt the word “God” in reverse.

Instead, its him who got the spelling wrong, giving it as “GGOD”.

“We spell ‘God’ as double GOD but they do it in reverse,” said Mugabe.

In the last two years, Mugabe has made embarrassing mistakes that experts indicate his advanced age.

In December 2014, he swore against his own Zanu PF party as he addressed a party congress.

He followed this up with an awkward stumble at the Harare International Airport as he returned from an African Union (AU) summit.

During the April independence celebrations this year, the president stopped his vintage car at his own portrait and saluted it.

Mugabe said Mawarire was ‘not one of us” and accused him of being sponsored by the west.

He accused the pastor of fomenting violence, saying: “A man of religion, we would hope would preach biblical peace.” Nehanda Radio
