Mugabe Turns Back on Burning Zimbabwe, Flies Off To Rwanda

President Robert Mugabe has arrived in the Rwandan capital Kigali where he joins other continental leaders for the 27th African Union Summit.Mugabe1

He was met at Kigali International Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi who travelled ahead of the presidential delegation, Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Tanzania, Edzai Chimonyo who also covers Rwanda and embassy officials based in Adis Ababa, the seat of the AU.

President Mugabe is accompanied by ministers Thabeth Kanengoni Malinga, Patrick Chinamasa, some officials from the gender commission including the chairperson, Magaret Sangarwe and her deputy, Paul Kadzima .

Sangarwe said Zimbabwean women have made great strides towards upliftment but they still need to attain 50 fifty representation in decision making positions and economic empowerment through availing of loan facilities and a women’s bank.
