Information technology student Takudzwa Wesley Goronga was reported missing around two weeks ago.

He was later found dead inside his wardrobe at the campus.

According to the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation Mugabe addressed mourners at Goronga’s funeral on Saturday and called the student’s death “a mystery,” a Sapa correspondent reported.

The president, who has two sons and a daughter, said: “Some children sent to study outside the country return home with some negative habits such as doing drugs.”

Police were still investigating the cause of Goronga’s death.

The student was reportedly raised by an aunt and an uncle in Marondera following the death of his mother 10 years ago.-Agencies
