by LLOYD MBIBA

HARARE – A bailiff will start auctioning off household property of beleaguered musician-cum-businessman Energy Mutodi over unpaid debts.mutodi

Revelations Auctioneers made a list of over 10 items, including generators and household equipment.

Mutodi’s goods will be put on public display before auction on Thursday this week.

His generator will be sold to recover a debt he owes to Brance Private Limited. He will also lose two garden chairs, two bar chairs, coffee table and a chair, three piece sofas, round table and a refrigerator, according to a notice published by the bailiff in a newspaper.

Mutodi was unreachable for comment yesterday.

This comes as Mutodi is also in the soup on charges of defrauding civil servants of over $2 million.

The flamboyant Chigorodanda singer is alleged to have lured over 16 000 civil servants to join and contribute to his housing trust but then failed to deliver the houses.

At least $588 787 was paid in by the complainants, but Mutodi allegedly failed to account for the cash.

At the same time, there are increasing questions about Mutodi’s mental and emotional state after the discredited would-be businessman, also a self-confessed follower of Emmerson Mnangagwa, spun yet another cranky plot on his Facebook page at the weekend, claiming that the VP was targeted for assassination by a prominent local businessman.

In his latest posting, Mutodi claimed that an alleged “close ally of Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko, businessman Frederick Mutanda” had since last year been plotting to assassinate Mnangagwa.

Both Mphoko and Mnangagwa were unreachable for comment to respond to Mutodi’s wild allegations.Dailynews
