Pasuwa quits as Zimbabwe national coach after Tunisia defeat

Zimbabwe Warriors ’ coach Kalisto Pasuwa has thrown in the towel in the wake of Zimbabwe’s 4-2 defeat to Tunisia which saw the country exiting the Afcon finals in Gabon tournament in the group stages supersport.com can reveal.After managing to hold fancied Algeria in their opener Pasuwa’s boys later fell to Senegal and Tunisia as they were eliminated from the tournament.

“I believe I have done my best in all the circumstances and once I get home I will tender my resignation to pave way for another person to take over’

“It’s a tough decision but with the prevailing circumstances I have to go back home and get something else to do.” Pasuwa told supersport.com in Libreville

The Warriors coach came under a barrage of criticism over his team selection and tactics. But he has also had numerous personal battles in the job, most notably going for as many as nine months without being paid by ZIFA.

Zimbabwe Warriors third appearance at the continental showpiece came to a premature end on Monday night following the defeat to Tunisia, meaning the Zimbabweans managed just a single point from their three Group B games in Gabon after a 2-2 draw against Algeria.
