President ED Mnangagwa Rescues Stranded Zimbabwe Mother In DRC

While the Angel of Hope Foundation is being spearheaded by the First Lady and mother-of-the-nation Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa, today in typical humanitarian spirit a real life experience could not wait for the motherly hand of Amai alone but the father was equally up suitable to the task as President Mnangagwa came to the rescue of a stranded 27 year old mother of three all the way from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

It all started when Zimbabwean born Blessing Kapora lost her father at age 3 and her mother followed when she was 15.

She had to be looked after by her aunt who was unemployed.

After completing her O’ levels she and her unemployed aunt set off in search of opportunities in Capetown, South Africa.

There she met the love of her life, a Congolese national who gave her 3 children, 2 boys and a girl in 2010, 2011 and 2013 before they both lost their jobs.

After a long period of struggle failing to make ends meet and feeding the children, they both decided to return home in DRC with the children, but alas their fate did not change for the better…still there was no job.

It was then that the husband decided to retrace his footsteps back to South Africa with the intention that the wife would rejoin him if he gets a new job, but this was not to be.

Life with her in-laws got tougher and tougher until she was advised to approach the Zimbabwean Embassy in Kinshasa where she has been phoning repeatedly over the past one year, giving up at one point.

Once the plight of this young mother …the rest is history…. she was the first person the President wanted to see soon after embarking on the plane back home from Kinshasa this Wednesday (today) afternoon.

A glimmer of hope shone on her last week when her grandmother who stays in Chitungwiza called her to inform her that the embassy had informed her that there is a plane coming from Zimbabwe on Tuesday (yesterday).

President Mnangagwa wanted to know what languages they speak and he counselled the young mother to teach them the ways of our Zimbabwean people eating mufushwa (dried veggies), sadza and others saying they are now our children.

In the Bible it is written that a wife is a helper for her husband but in this case of Kapora, the father has come in as a helping hand to his spouse in her Angel of Hope project which is touching lives of many in the country.
