In her maiden speech while addressing hundreds of villagers at the installation of Headman Masunda, Mahofa said chiefs and headmen should be accorded the respect.

She said government and other stakeholders should consult the traditional leadership to get guidance on priority in developmental issues.

Chivi Central legislator Ephraim Gwanongodza hailed the installation of Headman Masunda as an honour to the people of Chivi as he is a freedom fighter who has vast experience in leadership.

Meanwhile, thousands of Zanu PF supporters thronged the Benjamin Burombo Government Complex in Masvingo to welcome Mahofa who is affectionately known as “Chikoforo”.

Mahofa pledged to work hard for the development of the province, the Zanu PF party and government and vowed not to entertain non-productive issues.
