Scott Renounced British Citizenship

Acting President Dr Guy Scott renounced his British citizenship in 1965, according to the British High Commission in Zambia.

In a letter dated November 3 and signed by acting High Commissioner Sean Melbourne and addressed to acting President Scott, the British High Commission indicated that they checked their passport records on October 31 and established that Dr Scott was not a British citizen.

“I can confirm that British High Commission consular officials checked their passport index records. These show that you renounced your British nationality in 1965,” Melbourne stated. “Furthermore, the UK Omnibase (passport) database indicates that there is no trace of you holding a British passport.” — The Post.
