Sulu Takes Greatman To UK

DENDERA musician, Suluman Chimbetu’s collaboration with disabled Afro jazz artiste Tongai “Greatman” Gwaze is bearing fruits as the latter has been included on a United Kingdom tour.

Sulu, Alick Macheso, Seh Calaz and Greatman are billed to perform on March 2 in Leicester.

However, it should be mentioned all the attention would be on Greatman who stormed to prominence after his duet titled Pandakazvarwa featuring Sulu.

Sulu said that it was great to see the musician included on the line up.

“It is the first time that Greatman will be performing in UK and l know all eyes will be on him,” said Sulu.

Sulu said he was very optimistic Greatman will live to the billing.

“I am very sure that Greatman is not going to disappoint the fans in the UK,” he said.

He said he was in the studio working on another project with Greatman and that there are other established artists who are also working on helping Greatman.

“We are working on a project with Greatman but it’s not yet ready,” said Sulu urging others with disabilities to work on realising their dreams.

“Disability does not mean inability and you should show your talent even if you are disabled,” said Sulu.

Sulu, who is set to release an album soon, identified Greatman during his performance at a music gala in Mhangura last year.

The Alice Mbewe hit-maker was impressed by Greatman’s determination and pledged to offer him free studio time at his Cockpit Studios in Mabelreign.

After the video for the duet, Pandakazvarwa, Sulu received widespread praise from local music lovers for his helping hand.

There have been even several calls for music boards to recognise Sulu for this great work.
