SACKED Zanu-PF secretary for administration, Didymus Mutasa, has lashed out at energy minister Samuel Undenge saying he does not have liberation war credentials and was not elected to lead Manicaland province.
Mutasa`s remarks come after Undenge told party supporters on Saturday in Mutare that the former intelligence minister was a spent force and those following him should do so at their own peril.
On Tuesday Mutasa hit back, saying Undenge had no right to denigrate him in public because he was just handpicked to lead the province without going to an election.
“He must limit those remarks to himself. He is a spent force himself. He was picked from nowhere without any election to be chairman of an important province like Manicaland,” said Mutasa.
He added, “I doubt that at his age he has liberation war credentials. It becomes so ridiculous to speak like that about me”.
“Does this man have any manners to be receiving all he has on a silver plate and then look down on those who provide it? A wise man in his position would keep quite. He has opened his mouth and removed all the doubt,” said Mutasa.
Zanu-PF politburo last week expelled both Mutasa and the Mashonaland West Chairman Themba Mliswa from the party.
Mutasa was accused of undermining the party leadership and of issuing some disparaging remarks on party leadership in the private media.
The former intelligence minister recently issued a public statement to the private media attacking President Mugabe and his wife Grace of allowing themselves to be used by ambitious people within the party.
