THE Zimbabwe national men’s rugby team, the Sables, have maintained their perfect start to the 2025 rugby season after thumping Botswana this Saturday in the ‘Battle of Zambezi’ Series.
After a domineering 70-15 victory over Zambia in the first leg of the Battle of Zambezi Series, the Sables continue to prove their mettle after humiliating the Vultures of Botswana 80-12 at Harare Sports Club.
Just like Zambia, Botswana failed to hold on to their grip in the attack as they conceded 47 in the first half and scoring just five points.
Botswana failed to understand what hit them as the Sables spearheaded sporadic attacks all around the park, leaving the Vultures without answers to the Sables charge.
In the second half, the Sables carried on from where they left off before the break, scoring tries at will and restricting the visitors from scoring.
The Sables who are preparing to defend their title at the Rugby Africa Cup 2025 in July, were merciless against the Vultures as they clocked a score of 80 to punish the visitors who could only add seven to their score.
Zimbabwe now shifts focus to the reverse fixture against Zambia slated for the 29 of this month in Lusaka._zbc
