The death toll in an attack on Saturday in the city of Bulawayo, the second most important in Zimbabwe, rose to two, according to hospital sources.

The official radio had confirmed the death of one of the 49 wounded in the detonation occurred on Saturday at the Bulawayo stadium shortly after a speech by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in a rally part of the election campaign, organized by the ruling party African National Union of Zimbabwe-Patriotic Front (Zanu-PF).
Mpilo hospital sources in that city said that a second injured died, but the announcement has not yet received confirmation from the Ministry of Health.
The attack, described by the terrorist authorities, has received widespread international condemnation led by the United Nations and the African Union.
The elections are announced for July 30 with the participation of 23 candidates for the presidency of the country, which occupied Mnangagwa since last November after the resignation of veteran Robert Mugabe.
Both the President and other high officials affirmed that this act of terror will not stop the process towards holding elections in a climate of peace in this southern African nation.
