Zimbabwean fashion designer Joyce Chimanye of the Zuva label, who has been running a fashion club since December 2016, has opened a school of fashion for children and adults at Sam Levy Village in Borrowdale, Harare. The school will offer short courses in fashion drawing, modelling and makeup techniques and certificates and diplomas in future.Â
It will also host a fashion hub and conduct workshops, according to a newspaper report from Zimbabwe.
Established in 1994, the Zuva brand was inspired by the Savanna region, coupled with Zimbabwean art and culture and expressed through contemporary styling.
The brand aims to deliver education and empowerment in fashion designing and manufacturing first in Zimbabwe and then in the African continent, Chimanye said. (DS)
