ZAMORA, SPAIN — Liverpool and Portugal forward Diogo Jota, 28, has died in a devastating car crash alongside his younger brother, Andre Jota, just ten days after his wedding.

According to reports by Spanish news agency EFE, the fatal accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning near Palacios de Sanabria, on the Rías Bajas Highway (A-52) in northwestern Spain. The vehicle reportedly veered off the road at approximately 12:40am local time, before catching fire. Both brothers were pronounced dead at the scene.
