I started off business in the streets using my mums battered bakkie selling mangoes (occasionally tomatoes).I had to drive early to Murewa and Mutoko to buy these. My first promotion was when I bought a few clothes to be acceptable as a gadget seller at Ximex Mall. I didn’t stop dreaming.I had passion to be successful despite my conditions of adversity,” said Tazvi Mhaka.

He spoke after he met fellow Zimbabweans in Cape Town. “I also had exciting moments to meet exceptionally sharp, smart, hardworking and passionate Zimbabweans doing great things for the nation of South Africa as successful entrepreneurs, top executives and senior managers. Zimbabwe has great talent. It was quite inspiring to share notes on how we can all be part of building our country.
In the same measure I also met my fellow country people delivering exceedingly great service that is truly prospering Cape Town possibly at the cost of our country. These people are feeding and clothing families back home and contributing to the success of our country. We have a great sense of united families in our country. I appreciate these people who are making it possible for families back home.
My word was to challenge them to dream, make decisions and act. Prosperity is not determined by birth place, present conditions and the past. It’s the dreams, decisions and actions that will deliver a better life. I hope I dared them to see that the great service they are providing to SA as a learning experience to start something good for themselves and for their country.”
