President Mugabe accuses Kasukuwere of selling off land that was earmarked for Zanu PF youth to Prophet Magaya and his friends , according to reports.
Kasukuwere, seen as a key player in the G40 faction in Zanu PF that is intent on blocking Lacoste faction leader Emmerson Mnangagwa’s ascendency to the presidency denied the allegations saying state media is misinforming the country on land allocations in Harare.
Through the private owned Daily News , Kasukuwere stormed: “What you have read in the State media is pure malice, malicious lies. We are denied space in The Herald; they lie about me. What type of a paper is that, whose news is just hatchet job after hatchet job? Which land belonging to youths has been sold?”
Mnangagwa said the Ministry of Home Affairs and Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission which was moved to the Office of the President and Cabinet must authorise their arrests.
Their arrests would be a severe blow to Grace Mugabe , who is believed to be working with G40 faction to succeed her 92-year old husband Robert.
Mnangagwa said Government will “ruthlessly” deal with individuals implicated in corrupt deals regardless of their status acknowledging that media reports on corruption were disturbing and culprits should face justice.
He made similar remarks in June this year while officially opening a symposium on the ease of doing business in Zimbabwe organised by the Office of the President and Cabinet and Zimpapers.
