Zimbabwe Begins New Mass Recruitment of Nurses Below the Age of 70 After Chiwenga Dismissed 16 000

The Health Services Board (HSB) and the Ministry of Health and Child Care is inviting applications from qualified unemployed registered general nurses, primary care nurses and similarly retired nurses below the age of 70 to fill nursing posts in the health service.

This follows the dismissal of striking nurses by the government on Tuesday.

In a statement to the ZBC News, the HSB said all applicants should have valid practicing certificates.

The ministry also said in the interim, all members who are on vacation leave, annual leave and nights off should report for duty with immediate effect.

Those who were fired can also apply as new employees, and that they can approach nearest central hospital, provincial hospital and provincial medical health directorate immediately.-zbc
